Blood Making
Within a horror film blood is one of the most important convention of horror as it is used to create the illusion of death. In our group we experimented with lots of recipes to create a realistic, fake blood. All of the recipes were edible and each had unique textures and colours.
As a class we made different types of blood these were:
Included above is a video showing our group putting together the ingredients to make gravy blood. Gravy blood required these ingredients:
We have chosen to use gravy blood in our horror trailer as it was easy to make as it contained very few ingredients which are easy to buy (common house hold items) and is not time consuming to make. Gravy blood produced a great splat/splatter outcome, it was liquidly which allowed the contents to expand/disperse and not clump together.
- Chocolate blood
- Peppermint blood
- Gravy blood

- Smooth and lumpy peanut butter blood

- Boiling water
- 3 tsps of gravy granules
- Red food colouring
