Shooting Schedule
In order to make a good trailer we decided to record what happened each time we filmed, we new to have a good trailer we had to film a lot of times to make sure we had enough shots. This is a list of days we went and detail about what happened that day.
Saturday 17th October
The plan for this day was to complete hannah's drowning scene (Her death) this meant filming hannah being pushed into a kitchen sink, with the camera in different positions and from different point of view.
Everything went to plan and we finished Hannah's death scene, we got many shots for example behind the shoulder, side view and a view outside looking in through the window from Mr Cullen"s point of view, there is a lot of footage to take quick intense shots from, overall this was a good start to filming our trailer. We decided to film at night and although the kitchen lights were on and it was a bright area to film in, outside was dark and it made it more mysterious as to what was looking into the house at Hannah.
Monday 26th October
The initial idea for this day was to film different shots of us meeting the house for the first time, and messing around as usual teenage kids. We were successful with the amount of shots we got and photos to go on our website, we filmed the four of us walking towards the old house using a hand held camera this was an over the shoulder shot and this shot was used a numerous of times, for example when knocking on the door, looking around the side of the house and creeping up on Hannah. We filmed in day light as we thought it would be more suitable to see things and it makes things look safe and normal.
Friday 13th November
We decided today to try make up on Ryan and Ffion for their death scene, we recorded this to put onto our website. Then filmed shots for our last scene where the dead bodies are revealed and Ryan gets hung. We decided to film this underneath the school stage but unfortunately we weren't able to access it due to it being sealed up, instead we decided to film in the boiler room, this actually worked better than underneath the stage as the roof was higher and there was more room. We got different shots of Ffion and Hannah led on the floor, including a long shot and a pan round to face the two dead bodies.
Friday 20th November
Our plan was to film all of Ffion's death, unfortunately we weren't able to do the make up so only the start was filmed. This was a bit of a set back as it didn't go to plan as we thought it would, but we got many shots ,for example Ffion getting ready for bed and noticing Holly (The killer) stood in the door way
Wednesday 25th November
Today me and Ffion were able to do the make up, this meant we could do the end of Ffions death and we were able to complete it all. Smashing the mirrors was our first job and adding blood to the cracks, We originally decided to smash the mirror with a hammer but we found out that this was really hard to do, in the end be used a rock and dropped it from a certain height and this worked really well. Initially we decided to stand the mirrors up right for Ffion to smash her head against after realising that the glass would fall out, we chose to have the mirror led on the floor and Ffion leaning over with behind the shoulder close up, this still worked just as well.
Wednesday 2nd December
Our plan for today was to film us as teenagers settling down to our first night in the house, this involved us playing a game and talking about the deaths that took place in the house. We also filmed 'Cullen' being said 3 times into the mirror, this is where the spirit is realised and everything starts to get creepy and weird. We used a range of different shots for example mid shot, over the shoulder, and a long shot.
Tuesday 8th December
We realised Ryan's hanging didn't look so good on final cut so we decided to redo it. We got different shots of Ryan's feet hanging, this was in a different place than the last one. Our previous location was in a garage with over exposing light this didn't fit in with the style of our trailer so we decided to reshoot the scene in a different location with better lighting which was the boiler room.
Wednesday 16th December
In our trailer we decided to have a fast paced section to build up tension, for this we filmed a lot of shots one of these was of Ryan running away from the camera, when we uploaded this onto final cut we decided using a man didn't fit right with theory of conventions. We then re-filmed the shot instead using a girl this looked more effective.
Friday 8th January
We decided to add more quick shots to our trailer to make it more effective, this was of holly possessed and going mad, chucking chairs around, hitting the walls and screaming. We decided to film this in the school p.e shed because it was dark and dirty which represented somewhere where they would go to hide themselves from everyone else that is 'normal'. We also filmed some shots of a hanging noose, we did this in a dark room with a light shining onto it to create a shadow we thought this would be effective but simple. Our last shot was of blood splatted on a wall for another quick simple shot to add to our intense section of our trailer.
